Licensing error -1007 (Manual license activation fails)
Symptoms
I pasted my Hostid to manually activate my license, but I get the following error message:
- Oops. Something went wrong. Please try again or contact us.
- Error creating license. status = -1007 Invalid hostid type.
Activation - Invalid hostid type.
Cause
The Hostid in the activation field is either incomplete, has too many characters, or has an additional space before or after it.
The Hostid is a disk serial number and you pasted the Hostid without the prefix disksn=.
Solution
Make sure that serial number of the Hostid is complete and that there is no extra space before or after it.
Example of a Hostid as a MAC address: 04421ad331c2.
If the Hostid is a disk serial number, you have to paste the complete Hostid, including the prefix disksn=.
