Overview of the Quad settings
The Quad is a context-sensitive cursor menu that provides quick access to commands relevant to your current workflow. Its content depends on the current context and workspace, and can be customized.

The Quad settings
Right-click the Quad field in the Status bar, then choose 
Settings... in the context menu. The Settings dialog box opens, showing the Quad settings.

| Quad display | QUADDISPLAY | Determines when to display the quad. |
| Quad default command launch | QUADCOMMANDLAUNCH | Controls how the first Quad command is activated. |
| Quad popup corner | QUADPOPUPCORNER | Controls where the Quad will popup relative to the current cursor position. |
| Quad width | QUADWIDTH | Controls the number of columns in the Quad. Values between 4 and 16 are accepted. |
| Quad most recent items | QUADMOSTRECENTITEMS | Controls how many recent items are displayed in the top bar of the Quad, remaining slots are filled by AI. Values between 0 and 16 are accepted. |
| Quad icon size | QUADICONSIZE | Controls the Quad icon size. |
| Quad icon space | QUADICONSPACE | Controls the spacing between icons. |
| Quad show delay | QUADSHOWDELAY | Controls the delay before the Quad shows, on hover, in milliseconds. |
| Quad hide delay | QUADHIDEDELAY | Controls the delay before the Quad hides, when the mouse is inactive, in milliseconds. Applies to the zone set in the QUADHIDEMARGIN system variable. |
| Quad hide margin | QUADHIDEMARGIN | Controls the width of the active margin area around the Quad. As long as the mouse keeps moving inside this margin, the Quad will stay visible. The Quad will still gradually go transparent if QUADGOTRANSPARENT system variable is on. |
| Quad go transparent | QUADGOTRANSPARENT | Controls if the Quad goes transparent when the mouse moves away from it. |
| Quad expand delay | QUADEXPANDDELAY | Controls the delay for the Quad to expand, after the cursor moves over the Quad, in milliseconds. |
| Quad expand tab delay | QUADEXPANDTABDELAY | Controls the delay for a Quad tab to expand, after the cursor moves over the Quad, in milliseconds. |
| Quad mouse button | QUADMOUSEBUTTON | Determines the mouse button to launch the Quad. |
| Quad mouse modifier | QUADMOUSEMODIFIER | Determines the modifier key, if any, that needs to be held to launch the Quad with the Quad mouse button. |
| Quad tab flags | _QUADTABFLAGS | Temporary setting used while new Quad tab layout is implemented. |
| Shortcut menus | SHORTCUTMENU | Controls the status of the DEFAULT, EDIT and COMMAND (right-click) context menus. |
| Shortcut menu duration | SHORTCUTMENUDURATION | Controls the delay between right-click and the appearance of the (right-click) context menu, in milliseconds. Values between 100 and 10,000 are accepted. |
